Bertha E. Headlee, 86, 420 W. Sheridan St., Greensburg, died Monday, March 10, 1986, at 7:55 p.m. in the Decatur County Memorial Hospital.

Headlee was born Sept. 9, 1899, in Johnson County, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Sanders. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Kern Ropp, who died Feb. 4, 1926. She was a member of the First Church of God.

Her second husband, Orval D. Headlee, preceded her in death April 29, 1962. She is survived by one son, Ralph Ropp, Indianapolis; two stepsons, Orval Headlee Jr., Connersville, and Cyril Headlee, Shelbyville; two daughters, Mrs. Thomas (Frances) Bennett, Greensburg, and Mrs. Robert (Ruth) Bennett, Shelbyville; one stepdaughter, Mrs. Arthur (Violet) Bower, Columbus; one brother, Ralph Stutzman; nine grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Ruth Sanders; one stepdaughter, Mary Katheryn Wilhelm; two stepsons, Roscoe and Morris Headlee and two grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at the Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home, with the Rev. Robert Browning officiating. Burial will be in the Hebron Cemetery in Adams.

Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
