The deceased was a native of Germany, born March 24, 1982, a son of John and Martha Weaderholt Kizer, and came to the United States when he was only six weeks old. For many years he was a carpentering contractor in Carthage and constructed many of its present homes. He was a past master and over fifty years a member of the Masonic Lodge in Carthage, being a charter member. He was married April 1, 1880, his wife preceding him in death. The deceased was a member of East St. Christian Church.
Surviving besides the son here are one daughter, Mrs. Ruth Ruby, of Jackson, Mich.; a brother, Conrad Kizer, of Carthage; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Thompson Funeral Home here, in charge of Rev. Basil Stultz, Christian minister. Mrs. Maud Porter and Mrs. H. J. Beher sang duet selections, "Face to Face," and "Abide With Me," with Mrs. Harold Ruby, accompanying. Burial was in Riverside cemetery, west of here.
