Alonzo Kizer, age 96 years, well known and almost a lifetime resident of Carthage community, expired Sunday morning at 3 o'clock at the home of his son, Jesse Kizer and wife, southwest of here. For many years he was a carpentering contractor in Carthage and constructed many of its present homes. He was a past master and over fifty years a member of the Masonic Lodge in Carthage, being a charter member. He was married April 1, 1880, his wife preceding him in death. The deceased was a member of East St. Christian Church.
Surviving besides the son here are one daughter, Mrs. Ruth Ruby, of Jackson, Mich.; a brother, Conrad Kizer, of Carthage; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Beher sang duet selections, "Face to Face," and "Abide With Me," with Mrs. Harold Ruby, accompanying. Burial was in Riverside cemetery, west of here.
