Margaret Barnes Gonzalez (nee Winslow), 79, of Eagle Lake, passed away at 12:10 a.m. Sunday, May 6, 2001 at the Heritage House in Eagle Lake.
Born December 7, 1921, in Princess Anne County (Virginia Beach), Virginia, she was raised in the Baptist faith and had been a resident of Eagle Lake since 1981, moving here from Texas City.
She was preceded in death by her parents (James B. Winslow & Minnie Winslow Cartwright (nee Monroe), and a daughter, Barbara Jean Barnes Shearin.
Survivors include her daughters, Mary Barnes Craig of Norfolk, Virginia, and Constance Hope Barnes Conrad of Utica, New York; sons, James Leslie Barnes of Virginia Beach, and Ernest Walter Barnes of Chesapeake, Virginia; numerous grand and great-grandchildren, including locally, granddaughter Joy Peroni and family of Chesterville; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and loved ones.
Funeral services will be held at 2pm Thursday, May 10, from the Chapel of Dulany Funeral Home in Eagle Lake with Rev Brent Beasley, pastor of First Baptist Church of Eagle Lake, officiating.
Interment will follow in the Chesterville Cemetery in Chesterville. Dulany Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Sympathy is extended to the family in their loss.
