Funeral services for Martha W. Autem, 102, Parsons, will be at 10 a.m. today at Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons. Burial will be in McCune Cemetery.
Mrs. Autem died Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2007, at Labette County Medical Center in Parsons.
She was born June 25, 1904, in Wheeling, Mo., to Herman G. and Hattie E. Leu Reich. She was a former resident of McCune, Strauss and Pittsburg.
Mrs. Autem worked as a clerk at Doug Jones grocery store in Strauss and later at the Kansas Ordnance Plant in Parsons. She attended the Lutheran Church in Missouri and Christian Church of McCune. She was a member of the Strauss Quilting Club.
She married Walter Autem on Sept. 16, 1922, in Columbus. He died Jan. 24, 1961.
Mrs. Autem was also preceded in death by a grandson in February 2003.
Survivors include a son, Wayne Autem, Parsons; three daughters, Vera Lea Mercer, Lawrence, Hattie Turkington, McCune, and Dora Autem-Boore, Parsons; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and many stepgrandchildren, stepgreat-grandchildren and stepgreat-great-grandchildren.
