JOHN A. MORRIS DIED AT MARTHA YESTERDAY

Was One of Pioneer Resedents of the County-Funeral to be Held Monday.

John Albert Morris, age 69 years, died yesterday at the home near Martha, where he had been ill for several weeks. Mr. Morris was one fo the pioneers of the county, and was a member of the Confederate army.
The family moved to the Guyan river in his early childhood, and there he spent the greater part of his life. The surviving relatives are four children, as follows: Mrs. James Justice and Mrs. Harry Sullivan, of Milton, Thomas J. Morris of Martha, and Charles A. Morris, of Villa Grove, Ill. Beside these there are three sisters and one brother as follows: Mrs. Mary Moss, of Barboursville; Mrs. Edna Rice, of Huntington; Mrs. T. J. Berkeley of Milton, and Charles A. Morris of Martha.
The funeral services will be conducted at the Elmwood Baptist church, at Martha, Monday morning at eleven o'clock. The remains will be interred in the family burial grounds on the Morris farm, at Martha.

John A. Morris and Emily Gwinn were married 09/13/1866 by Rev. (?) Harmon, Baptist Preacher. Witness: Albert Gallatin Eshelman, who married Elizabeth (Betty) Gwin. (**) They lived on the Shelt Hensley farm near Milton.

Children were: Mary Eugenia Morris, Thomas Jefferson Morris, Charles A. Morris , Claudius Chester Morris, Martha Rebecca Morris.
