R. Michael Alpaugh

On Saturday January 26, 2008, God suddenly wrapped his loving arms around Michael Alpaugh, 37 and took him home.

Born in Wilmington, on September 5, 1970, Michael lived in Landenberg, PA and Sarasota, FL, and moved back to Wilmington in 2002. Michael's brilliant smile that would light up a room and his wonderful sense of humor will be missed by so many. When he wasn't laughing and playing with his son, Michael enjoyed playing guitar, listening to music and spending time with his friends.

Michael is now at peace with his grandfather, John J. Slavish and his grandparents, Joseph and Grace Alpaugh, who predecease him. In addition to his mother, Mary Anne Beaman of Wilmington, and his father, Robert C. Alpaugh and his wife, Denise of Petaluma, CA. Michael is survived by his precious son and the love of his life, Michael John Alpaugh; his maternal grandmother, Betty M. Slavish; dear aunts and uncles, who were so important throughout his life; his loving cousins; and countless friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service at Mt. Lebanon Methodist Church, 850 Mt. Lebanon Road, Talleyville, on Saturday February 2, 2008 at 10 am. Interment will be in All Saints Cemetery. Visitation will held at the DOHERTY FUNERAL HOME, 3200 Limestone Road, Pike Creek on Friday evening February 1, from 6-8 pm.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Michael may be sent to the Michael John Alpaugh Education Fund c/o WSFS Bank, 3202 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington, DE 19808.
