Estel Eugene Auvil, 52, of Iaeger, was dead on arrival Tuesday in a Welch hospital.
Born in Iaeger, he was the son of Magdaline Johnson Auvil of Brooksville, Fla., and the late Charlie Auvil. He was employed by the McDowell Board of Education as chief bus driver for the Iaeger area. He was a former member of the UMWA local union 8783 and was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Velvet Ann Auvil and brother, Benigamin Auvil.
Survivors: wife, Joan Hick Auvil of the home; sons, Michael Auvil and Allen Auvil, both of Iaeger; daughters, Mrs. Robert (Kitty) Coleman of Iaeger and Miss Nancy Lynn Auvil of the home; brother, Merl Auvil of Halifax, Penn.; sisters, Iris Akins, Brenda Auvil and Nina Mock, all of Brooksville, Fla.; four grandchildren.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday from the chapel of Fanning Funeral Home in Iaeger with Pastor Alton Richardson and Rev. Earnest Gardner officiating. Burial will follow in the Auvil Family Cemetery in Coon Branch near Iaeger.
Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home in Iaeger.
