Wilda Louise Baldwin George, age 89 formerly of Lee Street, Moorefield, WV, Passed away Friday morning, September 2, 2022 at the Grant Rehabilitation and Care Center in Petersburg, WV. Born on October 31, 1932 in Moorefield, WV, she was a daughter of the late Courtney Harrison Baldwin and Odessa Catherine Hose Wilson. Her husband, Clyde Calvin George preceded her in death in June 1976. A sister, Hartzelle E. Hinkle and her stepfather, Dale A. Wilson also preceded her in death.

Wilda was a 1951 graduate of Moorefield High School and after graduation, she stayed with her grandparents on the Meadows Farm until she married Clyde George in 1954. Wilda was a housewife and mother, a caregiver for an elderly neighbor and opened her home as a day care center for several years. She enjoyed going on camping trips and excursions with her sister and family. She enjoyed puzzle books, watching TV and viewing her feathery friends outside her window. She was a member of the Moorefield Church of the Brethren.

Surviving is a daughter, Connie L. (Jay) Fraley of Moorefield, WV; a son, Chris (Suzanne) George of Old Fields, WV; a grandson, Dakota George; a special furry grandbaby, Gracie; a brother, Chester Dale Wilson of Elkins, WV and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be conducted 2:00 PM Wednesday, September 7, 2022 at the Fraley Funeral Home Chapel, 107 Washington Street with Pastors Russell & Lucy Webster officiants. Interment will follow in the Newhouse Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM (Noon) until time of services. Due to the current COVID-19 recommendations, wearing of masks and social distancing by individuals unvaccinated is recommended.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the special caregivers while Wilda was at Lee Street and to the staff of Grant Rehabilitation & Care Center and Safe Harbor.
