Professional Hockey Player. Born in Sudbury, Burton played right wing and began his professional career in the Ontario Hockey Association (OHA), playing four seasons between the Windsor Spitfires and the Hamilton Tiger Cubs. In the 1955-56 National Hockey League (NHL) season, he debuted with the Detroit Red Wings and played 3 games without attaining any points. He would play between the Red Wings and the Edmonton Flyers of the Western Hockey League (WHL) for an additional two seasons. He would not play in the NHL again after the 1958-59 season, and retired from playing in 1968. He return to Sudbury where he worked as a sports broadcaster at CSKO-TV. He was the cousin of Larry Aurie, who also played for the Red Wings (Burton wearing the number 6 in his honour). Burton died on August 24, 2015.
