MICHAEL JAMES AMAGLIANI, 87, passed away on February 5, 2006. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, February 7. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 8 at Memphis Funeral Home Poplar Chapel, with interment to follow at Calvary Cemetery. Mr. Amagliani was the owner of Memphis Cycle & Supply and the Schwinn dealerships of Memphis Motorcycle and Mt. Moriah Bicycle Shops. He was a Sergeant in the Army and served in WWII in the European Theatre. After the war, he was active in the American Legion, Post 1 and was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Moose Lodge; and was an avid golfer and bowler. During the 1950's, he was Secretary and Prize Sponsor of the St. Jude Fishing rodeo for the Italian Society. He was a life long communicant of St. Teresa (Little Flower) Catholic Church. Mike was a devoted family man and was preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, Helen Piccardo Amagliani. He leaves a son, Michael James Amagliani, Jr; three daughters, Helen Amelia Dunn, Mary Francis White and Kay Millington; eight grandchildren, Michael Dunn, John Dunn, Shannon Carraway, Mark Amagliani, Courtney Millington, Neil Millington, Angie Archer, and Mike Amagliani III; and nine great-grandchildren. He was also one of six children; four brothers living, John, Joe, Gene and Frank Amagliani and a sister, Mary, deceased. Memphis Funeral Home Poplar (Published in The Commercial Appeal on 2/6/2006.)
