Alexandra VanZandt, a loving daughter, sister, and friend left this world suddenly on Wednesday, August 31st at the age of 26.

Alexandra, born to Elena and William VanZandt on July 30th, 1996, was raised in Canaan, NH. She graduated from Mascoma Valley Regional High School in 2014, and from the University of New Hampshire with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology in 2018. Alex served the community working at HALO Educational Systems.

Alex served this world with patience, kindness, generosity and so much love. A powerful, young woman, who could command any room with her vivacious energy. Alex could find humor in the most mundane life circumstances. She made sure everyone knew they were loved and did not take life for granted.

Alex, you have touched so many lives with your kind heart, contagious sense of humor, and love for life. A soul that was too good for this world. You will be missed by everyone.

Alexandra will be survived by her immediate family, mother, Elena VanZandt, father, William VanZandt, sister, Audrey VanZandt, many extended family members and her two French bulldogs, Sosa and Phoebe. Please honor Alex's life by not judging others, loving each other as hard as you can, taking nothing for granted, carrying out random acts of kindness, and living life to the fullest. We love you so much and wish we could squeeze you one last time.

Family and friends are invited to Alex's calling hours on Sunday September 4th from 10 to 12 AM and then Again from 1 to 3 PM at the Ricker Funeral Home in Lebanon, NH. An on line guest book is available to leave a message of condolence for Alex's family by visiting www.rickerfuneralhome.com

Dorchester, New Hampshire – On Wednesday, August 31, 2022, at approximately 4:29 AM, the New Hampshire State Police Troop F barracks took a report of a single motor vehicle crash on Route 118 in the town of Dorchester. When first responders arrived, they observed a single vehicle found on its driver's side in a ditch, off the west side of Route 118 in the area of Paul Smith Road.

On-scene investigation revealed that a 2018 Toyota Highlander operated by Alexandra Paige Sutfin Vanzandt, Age: 26, Canaan, NH, was traveling southbound and drifted off the west side of Route 118. The vehicle struck an earth embankment and became airborne, before coming to a final rest on the driver's side of the vehicle.

Ms. Vanzandt was given medical attention, but was pronounced deceased at the scene.

New Hampshire State Police – Troop F was assisted on scene by members of Canaan Fire Rescue.

At this time, the investigation is ongoing, but speed does appear to be a factor in this collision. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact Trooper Jawara Conde at (603) 223-6183 or [email protected].
