As a young woman, during WWII, Alice Kavanaugh Reno served with the Red Cross Motor Corp. She also drove Army trucks to the various destinations for the trucks to be shipped over seas. Around this time, she fulfilled a dream to become a pilot. She accomplished this aviation dream when she soloed from the East Greenbush Airport and obtained her private pilot's license. She met my dad, Robert H. Reno, a well known aviator, when they both flew into the same airport. Robert was the regional distributor for Luscombe Aircraft and Alice helped him ferry planes to various locatations around the country. Alice flew Luscombes and she soloed in a Monocoup. Alice was, also, a very good artist; but better yet, a great Mom!
