EASLEY, SC - Ruth O. McAdams, 77, of 1031 Slickum Road, died Wednesday, October 3, 2001, at her residence.

Born in Dacusville, a daughter of the late Noah Lewis and Mattie Phillips O'Shields. Mrs. McAdams was a secretary in the corporate office of J.P. Stevens for 43 years, prior to her retirement in 1989. She also worked for Alexander and Bolt Drug Stores, retiring in 1999. Mrs. McAdams was also a member of Mount Carmel Baptist Church.

Surviving are her husband, Lawrence Clyde McAdams, of the home; a son, Larry McAdams and his wife Sandy, of Simpsonville; a sister, Effie Lee Masters, of Sunset; and two grandchildren, Garrett Lawrence and Morgan Chase McAdams.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Hillcrest Memorial Park, with the Rev. Chuck Bridges officiating.

Visitation will be at the graveside immediately following the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to United Ministries, 606 Pendleton Street, Greenville, SC 29601.

The family is at the home of the son, Larry McAdams, 204 Holly Park Lane, Simpsonville, SC 29681. -- Robinson Funeral Home.
