Elizabeth was the daughter of Tapley White Nall and Margaret Ann ("Peggy") Parker. She married Thomas Barnes, purportedly in Hokes Bluff, Etowah Co, Alabama, in January 1846, 1847, or 1848.

Eleven children, two born in Alabama, and the rest in Arkansas:
1. John T Barnes (1849-1894)
2. Thomas Hosea Barnes (1850-1925)
3. James Abney Barnes (1852-1931)
4. George W Barnes (1855-1858)
5. Joseph Columbus Barnes (1857-1926)
6. Adolphus T. Barnes (1860-aft. 1920)
7. Sarah Barnes (1863-1864)
8. Louis Charles Barnes (1865-1876)
9. Benjamin Lafayette Barnes (1867-1902)
10. Henry H Barnes (1870-1877)
11. Florence Barnes (1872-???)

The last record of her living was her Widow's Application for Pension, dated June 16, 1903.

I believe that Elizabeth was buried near her husband Thomas in the Cossatot Cemetery and that her marker was lost when the cemetery went to ruin.

A warning: the Elizabeth Barnes buried in Brushy Cemetery is not the widow of Thomas Barnes. She is the widow of Napoleon B. Barnes, and is often mistaken as Thomas' widow. Tracing the census records of Napoleon and Elizabeth, convinced me that she is not Thomas' widow.
