Funeral for Homer H. Jameson, 78, lifelong and widely known resident of Silver was held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Silver Baptist Church.
Mr. Jameson died Tuesday at Hogan-Malone Hospital at Big Spring after a long illness.
He was owner of extensive oil interests in the Coke County and Silver area. Jameson Field at Silver was named because of the strong discovery of oil on Jameson owned ranch property in Coke County.
Born at Silver August 18, 1893, he had lived there all his life. He was married to the former Miss. Willie Adams December 24, 1919 in Silver. Mr. Jameson was a member of the Baptist Church at Silver and a veteran of World War I.
Survivors are his wife of the ranch at Silver; three sons, Myrle Jameson, J. P. Jameson and Ramsey Jameson all of Colorado City; three sisters, Mrs. Jettie Tubb of Blackwell, Mrs. Alice Humble of Midland and Mrs. Clara Walker of San Angelo; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Conducting the services were former Silver Baptist Church pastor, Reverend Allen Cartwright, assisted by the present pastor, Reverend Phil Floyd.
Pallbearers were Wayne Gound of Big Spring, Walter Paul, Charles Kennedy, Fred Theis, Zeddy Beal, Bill Allen and W. R. (Son) Whitaker.
