Marcia Lorece Doerr (Lorece), passed away Tuesday, November 23, 2021 in her home in St. George, Utah after a brief battle with cancer. Lorece was born October 27, 1931 in Ainsworth, Nebraska. She recently celebrated her 90th birthday with family. Lorece was the first of two children born to Homer Myers Keller and Ella Minnie Brede.

In 1938 the family moved to Lovell, Wyoming, where Lorece and Arlene, her sister and lifelong friend, enjoyed growing up. At an early age, her mother discovered that Lorece was gifted in music. In fact, at the age of 4 she entered a musical talent show in which she sang on the radio and was awarded 3rd place. Lorece continued to study music and later earned a music scholarship to DePaul University in Chicago in which she also sang on the radio. She later transferred to the University of Wyoming. While there she was awarded 1st runner up in the Miss Wyoming pageant, music was her talent.

Lorece fell in love with Richard John Doerr (Dick) shortly before he served in the Korean War. Upon his return they were married in Lovell, Wy on May 4, 1952 and later sealed in the Provo Utah Temple. Lorece and Dick lived and raised their children in Lovell. In 1974 they moved to Cody, Wy for Dicks employment until he retired and then returned to live in Lovell in 1989. Lorece later moved to St. George, Ut in 2014 to be closer to her children.

Lorece was an active civic leader, belonged to several organizations and groups, was a successful real estate agent, music director, teacher, performer, and loved to volunteer in the community resulting in many lifelong friends. She was a faithful and active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, involved with music and Relief Society. Lorece was always serving with a willing heart and a smile on her face. She made sure that her new neighbors were always welcomed with a plate of cookies or those who were sick had a warm bowl of soup. Lorece loved to entertain and cook for her family and friends, She enjoyed watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren participate in their sports or activities and was their number one fan.

Lorece was preceded in death by her parents, husband and sister. She is survived by her 3 children, Jeffrey L,. Doerr and wife Cynthia, Richard C. Doerr and wife Shauna, and Michele Mees and husband Mike, 11 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren who love and adore their grandmother. We feel blessed and are tremendously proud to be a part of her family. We love and miss her dearly, but know she is enjoying a wonderful reunion with loved ones.
