Mrs. Bagby Dies; Services Friday Ath Johnson Chapel
Mrs. Elsie Griffin Bagby, 51, operator of the Central Drive Inn and one of Yuma's finest cooks, died at 4:15 p.m. yesterday, following a brief illness.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Johnson Mortuary chapel at 2 p.m. tomorrow (Friday) with the Rev. Clarence B. Holland officiating. Interment will be in Desert Lawn Memorial Park.
Mrs. Bagby is survived by her husband, four children, three sisters, one brother, and two grandchildren.
She was married to Charles Franklin Bagby June 19, 1916 in Tishomingo, Okla. They came to Arizona in 1924.
Her daughter is Eva Lee Gibson, Yuma; the two sons are Charles F Bagby Jr., Prescott; and Allen Ray Bagby, Yuma. Mrs. Bagby's first child , a daughter, died in 1927 just a week after her tenth birthday.
Her sisters are Leta Vaughn and Dora Holt, both of Yuma; And Mrs. Lottie Bandy, Winterhaven. Her brother is Walter Curtis Griffin, Burbank, Calif.
Mrs. Bagby was born Sept. 9, 1898 in Checotah, Okla.
