Actress, Singer. She was an American actress and singer that performed from the 1930s to the 1960s. She was most noted for her appearances with her late husband Spike Jones on his television show "The Spike Jones Show". She was the tenth child of eleven children born to Charles Battiste and Rosina "Rose" Greco. She started her singing career at the age of four and at the age of eight made her appearance on radio on the variety show The Carnival Hour. After performing on The Carnival Hour, while performing on another variety show she was overheard by Bing Crosby and his brothers. Crosby liked what he heard and gave her a job in Hollywood. Her first film part was a non-speaking part in the film "A Night at the Opera" starring the Marx Brothers. Some of the other film productions she appeared in were "That Certain Age" 1938 and "Cha-Cha-Cha-Boom" in 1956 and television productions included "The Red Skelton Show" 1955, "The Frank Sinatra Show" 1958, "The Dean Martin Show" 1968 and the "The Pat Boone Show" 1968. As far as her musical career is concerned her big break came when she began travelling with Stan Kenton's band. She began performing with her future husband Spike Jones and his band, the City Slickers after he offered her a job in 1946. She also performed with his other band the Other Orchestra that he formed in 1946. She released her first single in 1949. Her two most memorable albums were After Midnight in 1957 and The Lady in Red in 1958. She made her last public appearance in 1968 on the Dean Martin Show. She and husband Spike Jones had three children. After he passed away in 1965 she married Bill Rosen in 1968 who also passed away in 2002.
