Mary Kearns Danko, 96 of Guilderland, N.Y., passed away at Shaker Place Nursing Home on August 19, 2022, surrounded by her loving family. Mary was born in Albany, NY, the daughter of the late Nicolai (Samuel) and Tekla (Tesi) Bohok. Mary raised seven children with her first husband, Harold Kearns. Her second marriage to Francis Danko expanded her family even further. Mary worked as an account clerk for the State of New York Tax Department. She and Frank were long-time members of the Watervliet Elks Lodge where they enjoyed numerous events, dancing, and dining with their many friends. Mary enjoyed competitive games including bocce ball with the Colonie Senior Citizen's Club and curling with the Albany Curling Club in Guilderland. She was a member of the Colonie Funsters. She enjoyed playing (winning) cards, dominoes, jarts, shuffleboard, golfing, and bowling. She was a formidable opponent in any game she played, ensuring that everyone knew she won with her "guess who won" dance. Mary was predeceased by her brothers John Bohok and Peter Bohok, her sister Aino Hobbs, her first husband Harold Kearns, her second husband Francis (Frank) Danko, her daughter Patricia Roemer; son-in-law Paul Hognestad, and stepdaughter Barbara Graig.
