Funeral services for Myrtle A. Rowland, age 100, of Osage, Iowa, were held
Tuesday, November 29, 2005, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Osage, with
Rev. Dennis Hanson and Rev. Roy Ott officiating.

Burial was at the Osage City Cemetery. Myrtle died Thursday, Nov. 24, 2005,
at the Faith Lutheran Home in Osage.

Myrtle was born Sept. 9, 1905, on a farm near St. Ansgar, Iowa, the daughter
of Frederick and Mary (Kuehl) Duenow. Myrtle was united in marriage to
William Rowland on September 21, 1927 in St. Ansgar. They lived in Osage
where Myrtle worked as head cook at the Osage Public Schools for 7 years.
William died in 1975. She was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church,
the V.F.W. and American Legion Auxiliaries, and was a Gold Star Mother.
Myrtle enjoyed music, cooking, fishing and gardening.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband William; two sons,
Dr. William V. Rowland, Terry Rowland; son-in-law, Courtney Buckmaster; a
granddaughter Cynthia Buckmaster; and a great-grandson Thomas Ahner.

She is survived by two daughters Diane Faye (Jerry) Bellis, Des Moines and
Marcella Buckmaster, Blaine, Minn., a daughter-in-law, Beverly Rowland of
Isanti, Minn.; 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and one great-great-
grandson.
