Scott Leslie Goff, 63, 432 Denver st., died Sunday at 9 p.m. at his residence of a heart ailment.
A native of Loa, Wayne county, he was born Dec. 31, 1886, a son of Elias Gorves and Mary Elizabeth Blackburn Goff.
Mr. Goff had operated a hotel in Loa 24 years and was a former sheriff of Wayne county. Well known for his civic activities in Wayne county, Mr. Goff was active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was a charter member of the Wayne Wonderland Lions club. He moved to Salt Lake City in 1949.
Mr. Goff married Trena Bastian Dec. 14, 1914, in Salt Lake City.
Besides his widow, he is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Nancy Sorensen, Loa, and his adopted son, Lewis Goff Blackburn, Fremont, Wayne county; two brothers and a sister, Claude Goff, Salt Lake City; Aaron Goff, Pleasant Grove, and Mrs. Estella Lipsey, Bingham.
Funeral services will be conducted in Loa L D S tabernacle Thursday at 1 p.m. by Karl P. Mathis, bishop, Loa ward. Friends may call at the residence of Worth Sorensen, Loa, Wednesday evening and Thursday prior to funeral. Burial will be in Loa cemetery.
