She was born June 25, 1832, at Rush county, Indiana, and was married to John A. Nickell in 1849, born were 5 boys and 4 girls.
She came to Phillips county, in 1878, and then to Decatur county, in the spring of 1901. Her home is in Clayton, Kansas, and came to Oberland to attend the funeral of her granddaughter, Miss Iva Kirk, two weeks ago, and was take seriously ill.
She leaves her husband, two daughters and three sons.
Surviving children are W. A. of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Mrs. John O'Neil of Phillipsburg, Kansas, Mrs. W. R. Kirk of Oberlin, Kansas, Robert L. of Kanona, Kansas, and Hiram F, of Clayton, Kansas.
She was buried by the side of her granddaughter.
