WAYNESBURG MESSENGER, Waynesburg, Greene County, Pennsylvania, June 1, 1870:

DIED

In Graysville, Greene county, Pa., on Friday, April 29th, 1870, JAMES WILLIE McKANNA ALLUM, only son of Jas. P. and Jennie R. Allum, aged 2 years, 10 months and one day.

"Willie" was an unusually intelligent and interesting child, a favorite with, and beloved by all who knew him. But Death, the stern messenger who will at some time visit us all, has called him, thus early to his home in Heaven. His death was very sudden, having the day previous to his demise, been at his usual out door sports. The afflicted and bereaved parents have the consolation of reflecting that what is their loss "is his gain, and that "our Willie" is now in the fold and companionship of that Christ who once said, "Let little children come unto me, for of such is the Kingdom of Heaven."

The funeral services at the house were by Rev. H. K. Craig, of Waynesburg, and the remains were deposited in Beulah Church grave yard in the presence of a large concourse of people.
