Excerpt from the A GENEALOGY OF
MEISSER FAMILY
(MEISER, MISER, MIZAR, MIZER, MYZER)

JOHN MICHAEL MEISER 4/3 (Henry Meiser 3/4, Johann Michael Meiser 2/2, Johan
Jurg Meisser 1/1) was baptized July 5, 1764 in the Millbach Church, Lancaster County. He
came with his father and mother to Northumberland County, Pennsylvania enduring the hardships of frontier life. Christina Druckenmiller, bom November 29, 1774, is recorded as his wife. She was the daughter of Frederick Druckenmiller.
Little factual information is known concerning John Michael Meiser 4/3 other than he is
credited with building an oil mill about 1800 near Aline to manufacture linseed oil from flaxseed. We can only surmise that he also helped his father, Henry Meiser 3/4, operate the sawmill and cider press at the same location. Since the foregoing were only seasonal businesses, farming must have been his primary source of "eking" out a living in this frontier area.

John Michael Meiser 4/3 died in 1827 and is believed to be buried near his wife at
Grubb's Church where a tombstone records her date of death as December 21, 1854.
