Lorraine taught school in Blanco, Texas from 1953-1955 and then she moved to Corpus Christi to teach History and English at Hamlin Junior High. She remained at Hamlin Junior High for the remainder of her teaching career.
In 1980, after 30 years of dedicated service she retired to her ranch in Henly where she lived the life she loved taking care of her cattle and goats. Lorraine thoroughly enjoyed visiting with her close friends and family and had a passion for genealogy research.
