Alvin H. Carlson was born on October 3, 1931, in Erwin, SD the son of Harold and Alice (Liljegren) Carlson.
Alvin received his education in rural school in Brookings County, SD. He served in the United States Army from 1952 until 1954 during the Korean Conflict. He was married to Mabel Bach on January 4, 1953 in Badger, SD. After their Marriage they farmed North of Arlington, SD. Mabel died on June 9, 1976 in Brookings, SD. On February 14, 1981, he married Evelyn Moe. She died on April 9, 1982. He was united in marriage to Beverly Stemwedel-Auck on August 25, 1989, in Badger.
Alvin continued to farm in Kingsbury County until his retirement in 2000, when they moved to Brookings, SD.
He was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Brookings, SD and the American Legion Howard-Marquart Post #260 in Badger, SD.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Mabel and his second wife Evelyn and one daughter, Linda.
