John W. Edmondson, 84, of the Alterra Clara Bridge Home, formerly of Fredonia, died Monday (April 22, 2002). He was born Feb. 21, 1918, in Punxsutawney, Pa., the son of Hugh and Ida Hall Edmondson. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving from 1941 to 1945, He is survived by a son, the Rev. Boyd Edmondson of Marienville, Pa.; a daughter, Loretta Carey of Fredonia; four grandchildren: Carson and Aaron Carey, and Katie and Mathew Edmondson; a brother, Ralph Edmondson; and two sisters: Helen Godfrey of Lyndonville, N.Y., and Hazel Quinn of Tonawanda. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marie Edmondson, who died July 27, 1988; four sisters; and four brothers. - DD
