Alexander Alexandrovich Gering, 83, passed away on May 4, 2022 in Concord, California. He was born in Berkeley on January 9, 1939 to Alexander and Alexandria (Adrianof) Gering.
He served 20 years in the United States Army and was honorably discharged with the rank of Sargent First Class earning the National Defense Service Medal, the Good Conduct Medal, 2 Overseas Service Bars, Vietnam Gallantry Cross Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, and the Meritorious Unit Commendation.
Alexander was preceded in death by his wife Karin in 2004. He is survived by his children Cheryl Auen, Linda Mellon, Michael Gering, Melanie Allen and Kathy Shafe.
Graveside Service will be on Friday, June 10, 2022 at 1:30 in the afternoon in Riverside National Cemetery, Riverside, California.
Arrangements entrusted to the care of Akes Family Funeral Home, Riverside, California.
