Catherine "Kit" Buoy Balliet, 83, 511 N. Front St., died Thursday, January 25, 1990, in Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg. She was a lifelong resident of Milton. Born April 21, 1906, in Milton, she was the daughter of Ambrose Elwood and Laura Louise (Bond) Balliet.

Miss Balliet was a graduate of Milton Higgh and a graduate of Bucknell University, Lewisburg, where she received a bachelor of arts degree. She retired in 1966 after a career as an English teacher at Milton High School. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Milton; the Women's Society of the First Presbyterian Church; former member of the Milton Library board; and of the Pi Beta Phi Sorority.

She is survived by a sister, Dorothy B. Chapin, Milton; one brother, William E. Balliet, Birmingham, AL..
She was preceded in death by a brother.

Private funeral will be conducted Saturday in the Dale E. Ranck Funeral Service, Milton, by the Rev. John D. Gerstenmier. Burial will be in Harmony Cemetery.
