Clayton James "Jake" Settle, 73, of New Cumberland, WV, passed away Friday, August 12, 2022, at Valley Hospice Trinity West.

He was born September 26, 1948, in Marshall, Arkansas a son of the late Paul C. and Suzie M. (Treat) Settle. He is also preceded in death by his first wife Vivian G. Settle (1985), a brother Pete Settle and a stepson Matthew Clayton.

Jake was a retired Carpenter from Union Local #186 with 49 years of service; an Army veteran who served during the Vietnam war, and was a Lifetime Member of VFW Post #3526 in New Cumberland.

Surviving are his wife Linda C. (Kacsmar) Settle at home; his children Jacob (Rebecca) Settle and Daniel Settle both of Weirton, WV, and Neil Setttle of New Cumberland, WV; two stepchildren Jennifer Clayton of Martins Ferry, OH, and Jaime (Nicole) Northcraft of Weirton, WV; four sisters Mary Ann Daughtery of Weirton, WV; Linda Wright of West Virginia; Joann Howell of Follansbee, WV, and Paula Guthrie of New Cumberland, WV; and three grandchildren Jessie (Alex) Settle, Luke Settle and Emma Settle; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received Tuesday from 10 a.m. until time of services at 1 p.m. at Turley Funeral Home.

Services will be there Tuesday, August 16, 2022, at 1 p.m. with Pastor Curt Moser officiating. Interment and Military Graveside services will follow at Highland Hills Memorial Gardens in Follansbee, WV.
