Polly Sams, age 78 of Valparaiso, IN went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 10, 2022. She was born on July 1, 1944 in Kuttawa, KY to John and Lucille (Strickland) Yates.
Polly is survived by son, John H. (Payton) Sams; two sisters, Carolyn Vickery, Marolyn Molesworth; six grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; friend, Gerald Larson; former spouse and friend, Paul Sams; extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers in law, Jim Vickery and Dave Molesworth.
Polly was a longtime member of The Moose in Portage. She loved to sing and she sounded exactly like Patsy Cline. Polly collected frogs and frog related items and enjoyed fishing. She loved her family and will be dearly missed.
Funeral Ceremony will be held on Tuesday, August 16, 2022 at 6:00 pm at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home Portage Chapel, 6941 Central Avenue, Portage, IN 46368 with Pastor David Nykamp officiating. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 16, 2022 from 4:00 pm until the time of service at 6:00 pm at the funeral home. Polly will be laid to rest at McCool Cemetery at a later date.
