Word was received here Saturday
morning of the death oi Mrs. Alice
P. Stephenson who died at Minneapolis
Friday morning May 19 1911.
Friday May 12th a baby girl was born
but was too frail to live.
Saturday May 13th, the Doctors decided
an operation necessary, so she
was taken to the hospital where it was
performed but she steadily grew
worse until the end came a week later,
All that medical aid and loving kind
ness could do was done but failed to
save her.
Alice Pearl Presby was the daughter
of Mr. and Mrs Edward Presby. She
was born in New Hayen May 29th 1882.
Her mother died at her birth and
she was taken by her aunt, Mrs. H.
W. Trude who was her mother's sister,
and raised to womanhood.
In Febuary 1905 she was married to
Mr. John Way of Minneapolis.
Mr. Way lived about 24 years and
died in July 1907.
On March 16, 1910 she was united
in marriage to M. A. Stephenson of
Minneapolis. She was a member of
the Presbyterian church of Minneapolis.
It was her last: wish to be brought
back to her old home and laid to rest
beside her mother. Very appropriate
is such a resting place where her relatives
sleep and where the friends of
her childhood still live.
She realized that the end was near
and spoke with her husband concerning
it telling him her last wishes and
seemed perfectly content to go. She
leaves besides her husband -many relatives
and friends to mourn with him
in his sad bereavement.
Funeral services were held Sunday
from the M. E. church, Rev. Robinson
officiating and the remains were laid
to rest in Pine Island cemetery.
