Alice G. Mathewson, 79, 1212 Hill Ave., died Tuesday, Sept. 6, 1994, at a Sioux City nursing home after a short illness. Services will be 1 p.m. Friday at the First Baptist Church with Pastor Walter Nickel officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 9 p.m. today, with the family present 7 to 9 p.m., at the Nelson-Berger Northside Chapel. Mrs. Mathewson was born Aug. 30, 1915, in Sioux City, the daughter of Clyde and Vera (Ross) Caselton. She married Myron Mathewson Dec. 11, 1988. She was a lifelong Sioux City resident. Mrs. Mathewson was a member of the First Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband; three sons, Leroy Heiner and his wife, Joan of Anaheim, Calif., Virgil Heiner and his wife, Sharon of Sioux City and Keith Heiner of Kansas City, Kan.; a daughter, Bev Zagozan and her husband, Joseph of Sioux City; four sisters, Ruth Manley of Mundelein, Ill., Margaret Jones of Jamaica Plains, Mass., Delores Townsley of Sioux City and Bonnie Green of Omaha; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Ronald Maloy; a brother, Barney Caselton and a sister, Lucille Law. Pallbearers will be (redacted).
