James (Jim) Morris Collins was one of eleven children born to Martha Melissa Sestus (Burkhart) Collins and Morris Burley Collins. Jim was born in Wapanucka, Oklahoma on December 19, 1927 and entered into his heavenly home on August 10, 2022 at Arbuckle Memorial Hospital in Sulphur, OK. He was 94 years old.
Jim was a heavy equipment operator until his retirement. Being highly sought after, he worked several years for major housing developers in the metroplex area of Dallas and Fort Worth.
Approximately twenty-five years ago he moved back to Oklahoma and spent the rest of his life enjoying time with family. A favorite pastime for Jim was to be fishing. He was known to be an experienced fisherman and especially enjoyed fishing with his family members and friends. Not many could compete with his determination and fisherman's knowledge when it came to fishing.
Jim was an avid OU fan. He enjoyed watching every game with his sons. For the past seventeen years he helped Johnny prepare for the annual Texas/OU game celebration. Receiving OU memorabilia from loved ones would brighten his day.
Family members will long to hear more stories from Jim. His stories were usually comical and eventful. He was also known to tell stories that involved him and his siblings as they were growing up.
Jim was a member of the Mill Creek First Baptist Church. On February 2, 1946, Jim and Ruby Louise (Teel) were united in marriage.
