AARON M. BECKNER — LONACONING — Aaron Matthew Beckner, 26, of Lonaconing, went to be with the Lord after succumbing to injuries from an automobile accident on Saturday, Aug. 6, 2022.

He was born June 4, 1996, to Joseph and Margie (Jackson) Beckner. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Estel and Evelyn Jackson and Raymond and Veronica Beckner.

Along with his parents Joseph and Margie Beckner, he is also survived by his sister, Megan Beckner; his niece, Madison Riggleman; and a special friend, Emily Flora. Aaron is also survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins and many friends; and a special Golden Retriever companion, Sam.

Aaron was a 2014 graduate of Mountain Ridge High School, where he was a member of the tennis team. He also graduated from the Center for Career and Technical Education, where he was a top student in the IT program. He graduated from Frostburg State University in 2018 with a bachelor's degree in Information Technology with a minor in Business Administration. At Frostburg State, he was a member of the tennis team where he built many lifelong friendships. He was a lifeguard at the Dans Mountain pool for several years; and most recently, he was a mail carrier in Elk Garden, W.Va., for the U.S. Postal Service. Aaron enjoyed outdoor activities, including hunting and four-wheeler riding. He was a fan of both Dale Earnhardt Sr. and Jr. He loved to swim and go boating with his family. Aaron loved to take his niece on date nights in the Corvette; Madison was his girl. Aaron was a laid back, soft spoken good boy who was always just himself. He was a good friend to many and had a true heart of gold. Aaron was his mom, dad, sister, and niece's sunshine. "You are my sunshine, my only sunshine..."

Friends will be received at Boal Memorial Chapel, Barton, on Friday, Aug. 12, from 5 to 8 p.m. and Saturday, Aug. 13, from noon to 1:30 p.m. Funeral services will follow Saturday visitation at 1:30 p.m. with Pastor Dave Marsh officiating.

Interment will be at Philos Cemetery, Westernport.
