Grant was the 8th child of John Lazelle Fish and Julia Alice Tanner. He married Madge Ione Allen on June 1, 1939 in Mesa, Arizona. They were blessed with two sons, Kenneth Lazelle and Phillip Russell. Sadly, Grant died in 1948 at the young age of 29 of acute nephritis.
