Fretta Mae Mooney -- November 9, 1942 - August 8, 2022

Fretta Mae (Simons) Mooney was born on November 9, 1942 in Bloomington IN. She grew up in the local countryside with her parents, Orville and Mildred Simons,, and her older sister Norma Jean and John Wayne.

In October of 1960 she married Charles Ray Abernathy Sr and became a US Marine wife. She traveled the country with him and gave him 3 children, Dorothy Abernathy, Charles R. Abernathy Jr. and Randall W. Abernathy. After the divorce in 1980 she and her 3 children resided in Levittown Pennsylvania.

In 1982 she married James D. Mooney and bore her fourth child, Daniel J. Mooney. She worked for Sears in the Parts and Maintenance Department from 1978 until 2003. Afterwards she enjoyed her retirement with her pets and her eight beloved grandchildren.

She enjoyed all Philly Sports and loved her Hoosiers all her life.
