Trent - Mrs. C. C. Stribling, 72, of Trent, died at 1:05 p.m. Tuesday in Simmons Memorial Hospital in Sweetwater.
A lifelong member and longtime teacher at First Baptist Church of Trent, she had been active in club and civic affairs here.
Funeral will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday in Trent First Baptist Church with the Rev. A. B. Earnest, pastor of First Baptist Church of Wellington, officiating, assisted by the Rev. W. G. Irwin, pastor of the Trent church. Burial will be in Trent Cemetery under direction of Elliott's Funeral Home of Abilene.
Mrs. Stribling was born July 4, 1894 in Bartlett, Tex., attended school in Trent and Hardin-Simmons University. She married C. C. Stribling in Sweetwater and they lived in Trent.
Pallbearers will be Bill Bowers, Ralph Hinkle, Garnet Wilks, Granville Smith, Sherman Driggers and Albert Maberry.
Survivors include her husband of Trent; one son, H. H. (Spud) McLeod of Trent; one daughter, Miss Helen McLeod of San Antonio; one sister, Mrs. Geta Williamson of Trent; one brother, W. J. Beckham of Lamesa; two grandsons; and one granddaughter. By marriage, she is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Neely Tittle of Merkel and Mrs. A. A. Schrimsher of Fort Worth; two sons, D. M. and L. C., both of Arizona; five grandsons and four granddaughters.
