Trent - Cora Dew, 81, a longtime resident of Trent, died at 8:30 a.m. Thursday at Starr Nursing Home in Merkel after a lengthy illness.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Trent United Methodist Church. The Rev. James Carroll, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Trent Cemetery, directed by Starbuck Funeral Home of Merkel.
Born Jan. 13, 1901 in DeWitt, County, she moved to Trent in 1949 and had lived here since. She was a member of Trent United Methodist Church.
She married John Mitchell Dew on Feb. 7, 1920 in Westhoff. He died Nov. 9, 1953.
Survivors include a son, Ralph of Trent; two daughters, Margie Van Dora of San Antonio and Mary Tucker of Ridge, Md.; a sister, Lola Alexander of Tennessee; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
