John C. Greer, age 85 passed away August 5, 2022. He was the beloved husband of Loretta Greer.
He was an avid photography and was known as "Nikon Johnny" from his camera buddies. He toured the everglades with National Geographic. He was a lifetime member of the NRA. He enjoyed spending time with his family, grandkids, and his little dog Max. He belonged to Turf Valley for several years and enjoyed a day of golf with friends and family.
He grew up in Baltimore County and worked with his dad in the family business of electrical and HVAC. He enjoyed working with his dad and one of their accounts was to service the Hippodrome. His would always love to get on the roof to see the ice trucks fill the chillers so the theater would be cool for the shows. Also a place he would take his eventual wife to catch a show with popcorn for a quarter. He became an accomplished mater electrician and he along with 13 others formed the electrical division for Howard and Carroll County
He was a loving husband, grandfather, father, friend, and mentor to those who know him. John was the most thoughtful, kindhearted, and generous man who would help others when needed.
John is survived by his wife, Loretta Greer; His children, Michael Greer & fiancé Beth Tucker, Jeffrey Greer & husband Gary Klicpera, and Stacey Harpine & husband Tom Harpine; His Grandchildren, Courtnee Harpine, Caitlynn Harpine, Cameron Harpine, and Hayden Hicks.
John's family will welcome friends to the viewing at Haight Funeral Home in Sykesville on Sunday, August 14, 2022, from 4pm – 7pm.
The Funeral will be held at Oakland United Methodist Church, 5901 Mineral Hill Road in Sykesville at 10am on Monday, August 15, 2022. Interment in Lorraine Park Cemetery.
