Myron, the son of James "Jim" and Neva (Couch) Rhone, was born on October 21, 1932, in Iowa. He graduated from Mingo High School in 1952, and served his country during the Korean War as a part of the U.S. Army.
On July 6, 1953, Myron married Betty Jane Hopkins in Marshalltown. They were the parent of five children, Jim, Jane, Julie, Jerry, and Jody.
He worked as an electrician for over 45 years, and participated in nearly every part of his community. He was a member of St. Luke's United Methodist Church and served on several of their committees. Myron was a charter member Optimist Club, Little League, Boy Scouts, and the Auxiliary Police. He served on the City Council, was a member of the Legion, and was an over sixty-year member of the IBEW.
Surviving are his children, Jane Jansen of Cedar Falls, Julie (Gary) Hanson of Newton, Jerry Rhone of Newton, and Jody (Ericka) Rhone of Newton; eleven grandchildren, Lori Schnepf (Matt Moomey) of Ankeny, Betty "Janine" (Terry) Riese of Shellsburg, Dr. Jonathan (Dr.Betsy) Jansen of Hinsdale, Illinois, Jason (Jessica) Hanson of Bentonville, Arkansas, Joey (Stacy) Rhone of Sun Prairie, Wisconsin, Randy (Brittany) Hanson of Newton, Jennifer Rhone (Jarrod McDonald) of Newton, Daryen Rhone of Newton, Drake Rhone of Newton, Blayden Rhone (Jordan Banfield) of Newton and Bryce Rhone of Iowa City; thirteen great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Vela (Max) Bucklin of Ira; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Betty Rhone; son, James "Jim" Rhone; son-in-law, Mark Jansen; grandson, James "Jamie" Rhone; great-grandson, Nolan Rhone; and brothers, Keith Rhone, and Larry Daniels.
