Anna was the daughter of William A. Potter and Elizabeth Reynolds. She married William F. Alger in Warrensburg on 3 November 1913 and Jesse Moffitt on 17 November 1931.

Her obituary reads:

Mrs. Jesse Moffitt
Mrs. Anna May Moffitt, 63, wife of Jesse Moffitt, of The Glen, died Wednesday, January 30th, at Glens Falls Hospital after a long illness.

Besides her husband, she is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Edward M. Bailey of Warrensburg, five sons, Albert Alger, Earl Alger, and James Moffitt, all of The Glen, Elmer Alger and Clarence Alger, both of Warrensburg; one brother, John Potter of Glens Falls; four sisters, Mrs. Dewey Smith and Mrs. Dennis Smith, both of Glens Falls, Mrs. Fred Bullard of Hadley, and Mrs. Emery DeGrush of the The Glen; seven grand-children; one great grandson, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were conducted Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Orton and McCloskey Funreal Home, Mountain Ave., Warrensburg, with the Rev. Roger W. FitzGerald, pastor of the Warrensburg Methodist Church, officiating.

Burial was in Potter Cemetery, The Glen Road.
