Marinda Casteel

For some years she had been in declining health, but until a few months ago she kept up, performing most of her household duties. She was a devoted companion endeavoring to build a home among the early settlers of this state.

Early in life she sought and found Christ as her Savior, and united with the United Brethren church in Blue Mound. She lived a consistent Christian life, her testimony was that thru trial and temptation she never lost her religion.

She peacefully passed from this life into the life beyond Sunday afternoon, Jan. 12, 1919, at 1:45. She who had endeavored to make a happy home for her loved ones in "This crooked and perverse nation (world) has gone to that home that was prepared for her, by Christ her Savior.

There are left to mourn, three brothers Joseph, Samuel, and Jurdon [Jordan] Casteel, of Mapleton, Kansas, two sisters, Mrs. Martha Comton of Uniontown, Kansas, and Mrs. Mary M. Miller of Burnett, Calif.; seven children, 24 grandchildren, and six great grandchildren.
