Robert (Bob) Erickson, Sr. was born on January 8, 1942 in Chicago, IL to Gladys Gibson and James J. Erickson. He was an army veteran with four years of service with tours in Germany. Bob was best known for being a local #130 plumber servicing all parts of Chicago and its suburbs for over 40 years. He was married on March 27, 1971 to Henrietta (Buczkowski) for over 51 years and a resident of Crystal Lake for about that same time period. Bob's most beloved legacy will be remembered as "Papa" and for his unselfish and loving nature as a son, brother, husband, father, and grandfather. Bob was preceded in death by his parents and his two brothers, Pat and Mike. Bob is survived by his wife Henrietta (Busia), his brother Jim, and his five children: Jennifer (Bill) Campbell, Carole (Mike) Pack, Mary (Eric) Zack, Robert Jr. (Kari), and Julie (Adam) Malenius. Papa was blessed with and will be forever cherished by his fourteen grandchildren: Will and Melissa (Campbell); Jacob and Madison (Kuhl); Cailey, Alexandra, Sara, and Aiden (Zack); Kyra, Olyvia, Wyatt, and Benytt (Erickson); and AJ and Claire (Malenius). We know when he reached heaven's gates he was greeted with: "Oh, it's you, Bob!" Visitation will be held at Colonial Funeral Home 591 Ridgeview Dr, McHenry, IL 60050 on Tuesday August 2, 2022, from 4 pm to 8 pm. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Thomas the Apostle Church 451 W. Terra Cotta Avenue, Crystal Lake on August 3, 2022, at 10 am. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Epilepsy Foundation.
