Believed to have become suddenly insane. Killed his mother and then ended his own life. A farmer of Orangeville. Born in Orangeville, son of Philip & Elizabeth Christ Gath. In 1917, he married Bertha M. Spink. Survived by his widow, 2 children, Elizabeth about 15 & Philip, Jr. about 17; a sister, Mrs. Frank Glor and a brother, Albert Gath of Orangeville. Funeral held at German Church at the same time as his mothers.
