In the 1970's and 1980's Beverly returned to college to earn her bachelor's and master's degrees from Sienna Heights University. She had a long career as a labor and delivery nurse and emergency room nurse. Beverly also developed and directed the Ward Clerk program at Delta College. She dedicated the final era of her career as an occupational medicine nurse. Nothing gave her more joy than seeing her family members whether she was on the sidelines cheering at a soccer or football game, applauding at a band concert or enjoying a holiday meal with her family. In addition, she enjoyed watching her beloved Detroit Tigers and never missed an episode of Jeopardy. Beverly was a member of First United Methodist Church in Saginaw. She enjoyed her pinochle card club, her Red Hat Society friends but most of all, she dearly loved her family.
Surviving are her four children: Kim Blue, Kay and John Kemerer, Ed Blue, and Matthew Blue. She also leaves nine grandchildren: Quinn Kemerer and wife Olivia Crandell, Brooke Swain and husband Tanner Swain, Hope Kemerer, Paige Kemerer, Grace Kemerer, Seth Blue, Connor Blue, Mitch Blue and Nate Blue. She also is survived by great-grandson Bennett Blue. Beverly's brother, David Dillon, survives her. In addition, several cousins, nieces and nephews also survive. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Dillon and her longtime companion Butch Shafer. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, August 9, 2022, at First United Methodist Church, 4790 Gratiot Road, Saginaw. Rev. Brad Terhune will officiate with burial to follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may visit with the family from 2:00-8:00 pm on Monday, August 8, 2022, at W. L. Case & Company, 201 North Miller Road, Saginaw. In lieu of flowers those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the Blue Family to establish a scholarship through the Saginaw Community Foundation in Beverly's name for students pursuing a degree in nursing.
