Loretta Stoessel
Loretto [sic] E. Stoessel, 74, of 416 N. Green, died today at 2 p.m. at St. Joseph Hospital.
She was born March 1, 1897, the daughter of Theo A. and Anna Coday Stoessel. She had been a life-long resident of Ottumwa.
She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.
Survivors include one brother, Albert T. Stoessel of Ottumwa; four sisters, Sister Justin Stoessel of Rochester, Minn., Mrs. Theodora Drysdale of Grove, Okla., Marguerite Reusch of Cedar Rapids, Mary Martha Wahl of Richfield, Conn.; two nieces, Mrs. Carole Olson and Mrs. Bette Jo Hall.
She was preceded in death by three sisters and one brother.
A memorial mass will be celebrated Friday at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church with the Rev. Paul Hart, chaplain of St. Joseph Hospital officiating.
The body had been taken from Jay Funeral Home to Creighton University in Omaha, having been donated at her request to the medical school there.
