SPEARVILLE -- Anna Mae Ackerman, 83, died Jan 1, 1999, at Minneola District Hospital. Born Jun 2, 1915, at Windthorst, the daughter of Henry and Elizabeth (Schreck) Nau, she married Peter Ackerman on Oct. 10, 1933. He preceded her in death on Feb 5, 1980. She was a homemaker and a member of St. John's Catholic Church, Daughters of Isabella, both of Spearville. Survivors include: two sons, Jerry, Offerly, Vince, Monte Vista, Colo.; seven daughters, Marie Felzien, Bosie, Idaho, Germaine Stempert, Bucklin, Jeanette Urbom, Loisburg, Eunice Thom, El Dorado, Pat Habiger, Debbie Hertel and Rose Thomas, all of Spearville; a brother, Alphones Nau, Jetmore; 30 grandchildren; and 35 great-grandchildren. The funeral will be 10 a.m. Monday, at the church with the Rev. Mike Helms officiating. Burial will be Holy Cross Cemetery, Windthorst. Friends may visit from 3 to 8 p.m. today or noon to 3 p.m. Sunday at Swaim Funeral Home, Dodge City. The family suggest memorials to either the Windthorst Heritage Fund or the cemetery's fund. A rosary service will be at 7 p.m. Sunday at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Spearville.
