Guy Lenoir Leach was born Oct 17, 1886 in Kansas. He was one of three children born to parents Joseph C Leach (d. 1906) and Mary A (Chandler) Leach-Springer (d. 1912). His sisters were Edith Vivian Leach (d.1969) and Josephine Leach (d.1967).


On 9 Jul 1898, Guy and his sister Josie are shown in a New Orleans publication "The Times Democrat" as performing in a school production at East End School in New Orleans, LA. [The East End School originally opened as a one-room schoolhouse]


The 18 Apr 1910 Census for New Orleans Ward 3, Louisiana shows that Guy L Leach was age 24 with an occupation listed as that of an employed plumber and born in Kansas; that his father was born in Massachusetts and his mother was born in Indiana.


He was residing at 621 So Lopez Street, Ward 3 of New Orleans, with his mother Mary A Springer age 50 who was widowed for the 2nd time and that in her lifetime she had 3 live births with 3 children still then living [Edith, Josephine + Guy].


In 1911 and 1912, Guy is listed in the New Orleans City Directory as a plumber, residing at 1434 Sixth Street, as was his widowed mother, Mary A Springer, who died on 4 Feb 1912 in Orleans Parish when her robe caught fire.


On 13 Jul 1914, at Faulkner, Arkansas, G L Leach, age 30, took out a $100 bond for Marriage to Miss Beulah May Johnston age 21 of Conway, AR. The couple - Beulah May Johnston of Conway, AR and George (sic) L Leach, mgr of Home Heating & Plumbing Co of same - were married on 15 Jul 1914.


Beulah May was the dau of Edward Virgil Johnston and "Ludie" (Trout) Johnston; she had 3 siblings: brother Sidney M Johnston (m. Cora E Tucker in 1912), Zula Johnston (m. Roy Leonard House in 1913) and Emma Johnston (m. Roy's bother Julian Ambert House in 1917).


In 1917, Guy L + Beulah M Leach were residing at 1611 Sanger Ave, Dallas, TX; he a plumber at Harry Kahn and she a clerk at J W Sovall. That same year, on Sep 17, 1717, their daughter Emma Ruth Leach was born in Dallas.


On 12 Sep 1918, 'Guy Lenoir Leach' filed his WW I draft registration wherein he stated he was born Oct 17, 1883 and presently residing at 1205 B St, Lawton, OK, where he was working as a plumber for D E Andrews. He named his wife Beulah May Leach as his nearest relative, residing at the same address.


Guy L Leach died in Oct 1918 in Lawton, Comanche Co, OK, his last verified place of residence. He was buried 24 Oct 1918 at Lawton Highland Cemetery.


The 10 Jan 1920 Census for Memphis Ward 13, Shelby, TN lists Beulah Leach, widow, and her dau Emma Leach, residing with Beulah's brother-in-law and sister - Julian + Emma (Johnston) House in TN. Beulah May (Johnston) Leach married 2nd James Lewis Scrimshire on 11 Mar 1921 at Willow, Dallas Co, AR
