Mrs. Grinstead was a member of Helena United Methodist Church. She retired from Roxboro Saving Bank after 40 years of Customer Service. Betty was known for her baked goods, especially her caramel cakes, ham biscuits and sweet pickles. She loved doing yard work and working in her vegetable garden. Mrs. Grinstead will always be remembered because of her giving heart and loving smile.
Surviving are her three daughters: Gail Sexton and husband, Steve of Rougemont, Tina Hamric and husband, Marc of Atlantic Beach, and Jennifer Phillips and husband, Chris of Rougemont; twin sister, Nell Carver Walker (Whitt) of Hillsborough; two brothers: Marshall Carver and Clarence Carver (Frances), all of Roxboro; seven grandchildren who she loved dearly, Hannah Gray Sexton, Matthew Sexton, Carson Taylor (John), Ethan Phillips (Dakota), Preston Phillips (Grace), Grant Phillips and Kayla Walker; one great-granddaughter, Merritt Gray Taylor; loving caregiver, Barbara Harris of Rougemont.
Memorial service will be held 11 AM Monday, March 7, 2022 at the Brooks & White Chapel with the Rev. Avery Dalton officiating. The family will recieve friends after the service and other times at her home (4505 Helena Moriah Road, Rougemont, NC 27572).
Honorary pallbearers will be Matthew Sexton, Ethan Phillips, Preston Phillips, Grant Phillips, John Taylor and Bill Ashley.
